At LêDowns Dentistry we can provide high-quality dental crowns to restore the structure, appearance, and functionality of your teeth.
While there are several types of crowns available, and while there are some pros and cons to each, the materials we use will complement the cosmetic appearance of your smile while providing the strength and durability you need too.
Is It for You?
There are several reasons you may require a dental crown. The most common reasons include:
- Strengthening and reinforcing a weak tooth
- Restoring a damaged tooth without removing it
- Replacing a particularly discolored tooth
- As part of your dental implant
- To cover a tooth that has had a large filling which hasn’t left much of the natural tooth
- To support a bridge
- Simple cosmetic modification
How It Works
On your first visit, we will examine the tooth and make sure it can support the new crown and then, if it’s ready, we can start shaping it to accept the crown. We may need to fill it in if it’s been significantly damaged through decay or trauma. Once we have it in the proper shape, we’ll take some digital impressions of it and the surrounding teeth so your custom crown will fit perfectly. You’ll be fitted with a temporary crown until the permanent one is finished.
As soon as the crown has been created, we’ll have you come back in so we can put it in place.
Whether you’re getting bridgework, a dental implant, or just looking for a cosmetic correction, we can help.
