Why We’re Different

Why We're Different

There are many aspects to LêDowns Dentistry that make us different from other dental offices. We’re not your typical dental office. Now we know that many other dentists make that claim, but we mean it. And we invite you to put us to the test! Here are just a few ways that LêDowns Dentistry is different from the other dental offices in the Denver area.

Cosmetic Dentistry
At LêDowns Dentistry, our doctors’ specialty is full mouth reconstruction and smile makeovers – otherwise known as cosmetic dentistry. Patients can have all of their dental needs addressed by LêDowns Dentistry due to their expertise in the dental field. They are constant in their quest for the best technological advances so that the diagnosis and treatment for their patients is less invasive and promote better post operative healing. They also pride themselves in the materials that they use in their restorations. They never send their lab work out to other countries to have it made. Everything is done in the USA.

Cutting Edge Technology
We have the most advanced technologies that a dental office can have. This includes but not limited to electric handpieces, digital x-rays, digital impression taking for crowns, Biopak to evaluate your TMJ and muscle activity, T-scan to evaluate the force and timing of your bite, along with laser treatment to assist us in gum disease, implant placement surgeries and smile designs. To learn more about each technology, scroll below to read more.

Digital X-rays
Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and health of bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs. Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Our doctors utilize digital imaging technology within the office, which means that the exposure time is about 80 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. The advantages of digital imaging enables us to not only store patient images, but also enables us to quickly transfer them to appropriate specialists or insurance companies. Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor and we are able to zoom in on questionable areas to get a better view, instead of holding up a 35mm film up to the light. Digital X-rays results in 1/6th the radiation exposure to you.

Intraoral Cameras www.gptdental.com
Laser therapy is one of dentistry’s latest advances. In the spirit of commitment to the highest level of treatment for our patients, our doctors have incorporated the DENTA 2 CO2 Cold Laser into their treatment options. This is cutting edge technology has proven miraculous results in the treatment of soft tissue, dental implant surgeries and gum related problems. Lasers deliver energy in the form of light. Depending on the intended result, this energy travels at different wavelengths and is absorbed by a “target.” In dentistry, these targets can be enamel, decay, gum tissue, or whitening enhancers. Each one absorbs a different wavelength of light while reflecting others. Laser dentistry can be used for both tooth and soft tissue related procedures. For soft tissue (surgical) procedures, it eliminates the need for scalpels, creates a sterile surgical field with little to no bleeding, and healing is much faster and virtually painless.

Digital Crown Impressions: Cadent Itero www.cadentinc.com
In the past, a crown impression was taken using a goopie material that was loaded onto a tray and put in the patient’s mouth. Once in, the doctor and patient had to wait for the material to set up. This can take up to 5 minutes. During this time, the patient has a mouth full of goopie, runny material that most likely will cause a gagging reaction. With digital impressions, At LêDowns Dentistry we are able to take a much more accurate impression of the patient’s tooth just by taking a few digital scans of the tooth structure and the opposing arch. Once the information is captured, the computer then creates a 3-D model on the computer screen that the doctors can evaluate before sending it digitally to the laboratory for fabrication of the crown. With a precise impression, the laboratory is able to make a better fitting crown for the patient.

BioPAK www.bioresearchinc.com
There are many patients that suffer from TMD, headaches related to TMD and also muscle fatigue in the head and neck. The BioPAK Measuring System is an advanced apparatus that objectively evaluates the activity of your temporomandibular joint (TMJ), your craniofacial muscles and the complete stomatognathic system. This capability is an invaluable aid to the diagnosis and treatment of craniofacial pain and TMD.

Tek-Scan www.tekscan.com/dental.html
For years, testing your bite has been largely a matter of guesswork for dentists. Articulation paper, waxes, pressure indicator paste, etc. were used to assess and balance your biting forces. Most of these methods are not sensitive enough to detect simultaneous contact, and none of these methods measure both biting time and the force of your bite. At LêDowns Dentistry we have the Tek-Scan software that allows them to adjust your bite without any guesswork. The software graphically displays both force and time of any premature contacts to the user. This information then allows our doctors to have predictable occlusal control during your adjustment procedure. For our patients, the Tek-Scan will provide a much more balanced bite after an occlusal adjustment procedure.

Precision Dentistry
When you seek care at our office, you are assured that our doctors and staff utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality and fit for your dental care. Many dentists use air-driven “hand-pieces” (the dental term for “drills”). While acceptable for many procedures, these air powered hand pieces all have a degree of non-concentricity; they do not rotate perfectly smoothly. For the most precise aspects of restorative procedures, we use electric hand-pieces. This results in extraordinarily precise interfaces between your tooth and your new restoration (crown, veneer, or filling). This will bring more comfort to you as well. With a more precise tool, there is less vibration and less noise!

Biocompatible Restorations
We provide biocompatible restorations that are made in the USA. We use one of the best laboratories in the US to fabricate all of our restorations. This allows us the certainty that your restorations are made from the best materials and metals. We also provide restorations that are non-metal (all ceramic or porcelain restorations) for those who want the most natural and esthetic look.

Teeth Whitening www.korwhitening.com
There are many different modalities to whitening your teeth. At our office, we provide the Kor Whitening System developed by Dr. Rod Kurthy, a reknowned dentist and bleaching expert. The Kor whitening system provides our patients with a deep and profound whitening result. It is considered to be the most reliable and effective bleaching system ever developed.

You can have all the dental needs taken care of in one office with LêDowns Dentistry. We provide dentistry for life, which allows you to grow with us as your dental needs evolve.
